Disa Allsopp was born in London and raised in Barbados. She received her jewelry training at Middlesex University and then at the Edinburgh College of Art & Design. Disa is inspired by the ancient jewelry of the Etruscans and Egyptians, and by the Greek and Roman civilizations. She uses traditional techniques such as forging, reticulation and patination to create her unique finishes on 18kt gold and sterling silver. By combining these techniques with vibrant gemstones, Disa produces work that is both contemporary and timeless. She individually hand-crafts every piece in her London studio, which she opened in 1996.
