Clean lines and crisp angles, perfectly proportioned or perfectly skewed, bold geometric shapes serve up a welcoming dose of modernist style. They’ve popped up on the runway at Ferragamo and others, and were especially popular at this year’s Couture and JCK shows. One of our newest collections from design duo Shimell & Madden is decidedly geometric, as if their pieces were pulled straight from the drawings of M.C. Escher. Vivienne Becker of the Financial Times notes, "Resolutely modernist, their work is abstract and linear, yet alive with rhythmic energy, resonating with the dignity of ancient architecture and the purity of classical geometry." Here’s a sampling of our new arrivals and other cuboid inspiration we love.
